Becoming a gestational surrogate can be a life-changing experience, but it is important to enter your journey with an ethical agency. We at All Families Surrogacy are committed to guiding you through the entire process and answering any questions and concerns you may have. Our main goal is to help people make meaningful connections and build families together. We appreciate the chance to discuss your surrogacy potential and your options.
What is a gestational surrogate?
A gestational surrogate is a woman who carries and delivers a child for another person or couple who cannot conceive a child on their own. The intended parents’ embryo is transferred into the uterus of the gestational surrogate, and the surrogate has no genetic ties to the baby. Gestational surrogacy is a highly regulated and legally binding process requiring careful consideration, planning, and support from all individuals involved.
What are the Qualifications to Be a Surrogate?
Our general requirements are according to ASRM guidelines, while specific fertility clinics may have their own requirements as well. By putting everyone’s physical and emotional well-being first, we can establish successful surrogacy journeys that provide joy and fulfillment to everyone involved.
All gestational surrogates must:
-
- Be a U.S. citizen between the ages of 21 and 44
-
- Have given birth to at least one child of her own, with an uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery history.
-
- Have custody of – and be parenting – her children (joint custody is okay).
-
- Pass comprehensive background, psychological, and medical screenings.
-
- Not be reliant upon government assistance.

-
- Be mature, responsible, honest, and willing to commit to the screening, IVF, and surrogacy process.
Is surrogacy successful?
Pregnancy and gestational surrogacy often have excellent success rates compared to other reproductive treatments. However, embryo quality and other factors could affect the success rate.
Gestational surrogates have a lower chance of miscarriage and other issues since they undergo extensive medical examinations and have a history of healthy pregnancies. You can also check our previous blogs about the five reasons to consider a gestational surrogate.
