This week we are featuring our fantastic Surrogate Coordinator, Tawni Boedeker. As a direct support link for our surrogates, she is an integral member of our team.
1) What do you do at AFS and what do you love most about your position?
I am a Surrogate Coordinator here at AFS. I absolutely love being able to connect with women who all have a huge heart and one goal in mind – to grow a family. We laugh together, cry together, and constantly get to chat about pregnancy. I hope that I “pick them up” as much as they pick me up on my worst of days.
2) Where were you born and raised? What brought you to Oregon?
I was actually born in Hillsboro, lived in a small town (Gaston) all through my childhood and moved to Hillsboro when I was 16. I have stayed relatively local since. I don’t think I could ever leave Oregon at this point. There is everything here that I could ever want, and aside from my friends and family being here, Oregon is just a beautiful place to live and raise a family.
3) How would you describe yourself?
I am a little bit of everything, all in a compact package. I like to make people smile with my quick wit. My sense of humor ranges from mild to wild on a very broad spectrum. 😉 There is never enough laughter in my day. However, I’m probably one of the biggest extrovert introverts you’ll ever meet. I can be known to be pretty sensitive but enjoy being a people-pleaser. I definitely love hard!
4) What do you like doing in your spare time?
I am passionate about animals, I could spend my entire life just sharing stories with my furry, feathery and fluffy friends. Spending time outdoors is my zen time. I also enjoy reading murder mystery books, watching a wide variety of TV series and solving fun number/word puzzles. All of my best memories are made with my husband and my THREE crazy boys though. We could be doing anything together and it’s a fun day for me.
5) If you could posses one super-human power, what would it be?
Hmmm…. I’m not entirely sure, if this was a real wish that was granted, I may want to do further research but something that pops into my head right away is superhuman endurance. I would be able to explore all my favorite outdoor areas and rely solely on my feet to carry me from each adventure.
6) If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I love Mexican food, and do you know how many different ways you can prepare a taco? I pick TACOS, hands down.
